QUEZON City  --  The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is celebrated its 20th anniversary this year with the theme: “BFP: Two Decades of Committed Fire Service to the Filipino People.”

The celebration proper was held recently which started at 7 a.m. with a Eucharistic Celebration at the new BFP National Headquarters building at Agham Road, Quezon City. BFP personnel, together with some guests, witnessed the unveiling of marker and ribbon-cutting. The Low Pressure Area (LPA) off Batanes which was developed Saturday morning into Tropical Depression “Goring,” is not expected to make landfall since it is on its way out of the country.

Goring, however, will enhance the southwest monsoon (habagat) which will bring occasional rains over Luzon including Metro Manila, Mindoro, Marinduque, Bicol Region, Palawan, Calamian Group, Romblon and North Western Visayas including Boracay, becoming more frequent over its western section.

CALAUAG, Quezon -- A septuagenarian mother of former municipal mayor Eric Entienza (400-001) was brutally murdered on a broad daylight while alone at their residence in Bgy. Sabang Uno, this municipality last June 3, 2011.

The death of the 74 year old Natividad N. Entienza who is popularly known as "Mama naty", was discovered by her househelp at around 10:30 in the morning. The helper was earlier sent to the town's market to buy food.

Initial investigation revealed that the unidentified assailant or assailants was or were professional/s since no finger prints were found in the crime scene. The PNP SOCO Team also discovered a marking written on the glass: "SAMPOL PA LANG ITO".
