2009 PEÑAFRANCIA FESTIVITIES

The following are the schedules of operations of Kabalikat Bicol for the 2009 Peñafrancia Festivities:

A. GABAY LAKBAY PARA KI INA: September 2 to 23, 2009

Motorist Assistance stations from Atimonan, Quezon up to Matnog, Sorsogon shall be installed by our members. Its objective is to give devotees and pilgrims of INA going to Naga City the necessary assistance during their travel coming from the Luzon and the Visayan areas. Mechanics on duty, first aid stations and information centers shall be made available to them. We have been doing this for several years during the Holy Week and we intend to continue these services even during the Peñafrancia festivities. Tarpaulins are provided by the Manila Bulletin, however, each chapter are encourage to install additional streamers.

B. September 11, 2009 from 8:00 am to 6:00pm
   1.Seven (7) Praying Stations (starting at 8:00 am) – Praying stations are located along the route of the Traslacion Procession and every chapter will be assigned in every section with corresponding praying stations namely:
      a.Shrine to AMS Press – this area is for the YELLOW voyadores
      b.AMS Press to CSPC gate – this area is for the PINK voyadores
      c.CSPC gate to CSNHS gate – this area is for the BLUE voyadores
      d.CSNHS gate to Colgante bridge – this area is for the RED voyadores
      e.Colgante bridge to San Francisco Church – this area is for the BLACK voyadores
      f.San Francisco Church Naga Land Hotel – this area is for the ORANGE voyadores
      g.Naga Land Hotel to Imperial residence– this area is for the BROWN voyadores

   2.Traslacion Procession (12:00 noon) - The members of the Kabalikat Bicol will assemble at the Peñafrancia Shrine and shall assist in the procession of Our Lady of Peñafrancia up to the crossing of Magsaysay Avenue and Liboton only to ensure orderliness of the procession. Members shall then go their respective assignments and shall be in monitor along the way to the Metropolitan Cathedral in case there will be emergencies or situations that might need our help.

C.FLUVIAL PROCESSION: September 19, 2009 from 12:00 noon to 7:00pm

As we have done before, our members shall assist and monitor the procession from the Metropolitan Cathedral up to the landing site at Tabuco, Naga City, giving first and foremost rescue and communication services. Meanwhile that the procession is on going, the bulk of our members will be assigned at the Colgante and Magsaysay bridges to extend crowd control and traffic assistance. This has been the part given us by the PNP for several years now to ensure that the “Colgante incident” way back in 1972 will not happen again.

D.JUNCTIONS AND BRIDGES: during the Traslacion Procession, Military Parade, Fluvial Procession and the Feast Day (Sept. 20, 2009)

Operatives shall be posted on the different junctions and bridges to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and communication. Stations shall inform the central base in cases of emergencies and other situations that need the assistance of the group. These junctions and bridges are as follows:

- Magsaysay bridge - Colgante bridge
- Santonja - Starmark (Peñafrancia)
- Danlugan (near Tabuco bridge) - Dagsaan (near Basilica church)
- Mariano Village - West Park
- Crossing Panganiban and SM
- Crossing Panganiban and Diversion
- Crossing Panganiban and Lerma

E.MILITARY PARADE: September 18, 2009 from 6:00am to 3:00pm

Kabalikat Bicol will be responsible for the formation of all delegations in the designated assembly area and shall assign a member to every contingent and to accompany the contingent up Mercury Drug at corner Panganiban and Peñafrancia Avenue.

F.PILGRIM SITES AND RELIGIOUS CENTERS: September 16 to 20, 2009

Pre-selected Kabalikat Bicol members coming from chapters near Naga City will be assigned to four (4) Pilgrim shelters on a 24-hour service which will house pilgrims from other parishes:
         1.Sta. Cruz Elementary School
         2.Abcede Elementary School
         3.JoseRizal Elementary School
         4.Mac Mariano Elementary School

G. CULTURAL SHOWS AT PLAZA QUEZON: September 11 to 19, 2009 from 6:00pm to 12:00 midnight

Kabalikat Bicol members will be assigned to monitor and provide assistance in cases of emergencies during the conduct of various cultural shows at the Plaza Quezon.
