"Ondoy" can’t stop KB Bicol members to attend Standard Resuce Training

PAMPLONA, Cam. Sur  --  Some 100 members from various chapters of Kabalikat Bicol braved the heavy rains brought about by typhoon “Ondoy” just to attend and participate in the Disaster Management and Rescue Training which started last September 25, at the Camp Patricia, a training camp facilities by the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) at Bgy. Del Rosario, this municipality.

The training which is free food and accomodation, is sponsored by the Project: 78 4 D.A.TO. (Assistance for Disaster-Affected Towns) of Congressman Dato Arroyo of the 1st district of CSur and Kabalikat Bicol is being supported by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Philippine National red Cross (PNRC) Cam. Sur Chapter, Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), Regional Disaster Coordinating Council (RDCC), Philippine national Police (PNP) and the GSP-Cam. Sur Council.

Then first batch, a 3-weekend training, whose participants are  mostly from the 1st district towns, has a training schedules on September 26-27, oct 3-4 and Oct. 9-10 to complete the 6-days required to finish the 2 courses – First Aid and Rescue course and Basic Life Support-CPR course.

The 2nd batch, a 6-day live in, started their training last Sunday, Sept. 27 and will finish on Oct 3 while the 3rd batch, also a 6-day live in, will start on Oct 4 and ends up on Oct. 10.

According to KB Bicol Regional Governor Jennis I.Nidea (30-01) who is also a participant in the 3-weekend training, Cong. Dato Arroyo has been invited to grace the mass graduation tentatively schedule on October 10 at 10 in the morning.
