Manila Bulletin & Bayan Telecommunications support KBNet’s Gabay Lakbay 2010

NAGA City -- Members of the more than 120 chapters of Kb Bicol, KB Malaya and KB Mediacom are all ready for the 2010 Gabay Lakbay Operation by setting up their respective SUMVAC (Summer Vacation) Motorist Assistance Station along the major roads and highways in the country.

Gabay Lakbay is an annual undertaking of the volunteer groups which is aimed at rendering assistance to all travellers who are going on vacation specially during the lenten season.

In Bicol, Sir Jennis I. Nidea said that the Manila Publishing, publisher of Manila Bulletin, Tempo, Liwayway and Balita and the Bayan Telecommunication provided support to the KB Bicol.

He said that Manila Publishing gave thirty five (35) 10 ft X 4 ft Tarpaulins printed with the Gabay Lakbay while Bayan Telecommunication will provide 5 units of wireless landlines known as Bayan Span with several Tents and Tarpaulins.

Nidea said that the span units will be distributed at the following stations: 1 in Cam. Norte c/o Ferdz Abejero (219-14) the regional secretary-general who is based in Daet and Basud, Cam. Norte; 1 in Pamplona-Pasacao Station of KB120 at the Tambo Crossing; 1 in Naga City Station of KB30 at the Diversion Road, Triangulo, Naga City; 1 Oas Station of KB503 at the National Highway, Oas, Albay and 1 for the KBNet National President.

This year's Manila Publishing's tarpaulins will also be given to Gabay Lakbay Stations along the roads going to Hinulid, Calabanga, Cam. Sur.

KB Bicol, Malaya and Mediacom are member-organizations of the KabalikatNet Philippines Inc., a national network and umbrella organization of volunteer groups in the country.
