KBNet volunteers ready for SumVac 2010

All chapters of KB Bicol, KB Malaya and KB Mediacom are now positioned in their respective Motorist Assistance Stations and ready to extend assistance to those travellers who are in need.

Dubbed as Gabay-Lakbay Operations, is one of the major activities of KBNet Phils, a national network and umbrella organization of volunteer groups in the Philippines aimed at extending voluntary services  along national highways and major roads nationwide, which are expected to be busy due to influx of travellers during the week-long lenten season.

Every chapter has set-up a make-shift covered-tent served as Motorist Assistance Station with radio communication facilities such as VHF Radio unit, mobile phones and for some areas, provided with Span, a wireless landline provided as a support by the Bayan Telecommunications.  Said stations are provided with big tarpaulins given by the Manila Publishing Inc., publisher of Manila Bulletin, Tempo, Balita and Liwayway.
