KB Bicol is SINING GISING guest last Sunday, July 11

Quezon City -- Regional Governor Jennis Nidea (30-01) appeared as one of the guests in the television program's "Sining Gising" aired live on Sunday, July 11, 4:00-6:00PM over the government's station NBN Channel 4.

Hosted Ms. Cecile Guidote Alvarez, UNESCO Commissioner for Culture and a National Artist for Theater, the SINING GISING is a weekly educational and cultural program being produced by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) supported by the Department of Education and the National Broadcasting Network (NBN).

The Sunday live episode gave highlight on the observance of the National Disaster Consciousness Month with this year's theme: Pag Alerto, Malayo sa Peligro.

Nidea discussed the experiences of the Kabalikat Bicol as a private volunteer organization and why their organization was adjudged as the Outsatnding National Private / Volunteer Organization in country during the 2009 National Gawad Kalasag Award of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC).

Aside from the Kabalikat Bicol, repreented by Nidea, who is also the founder and national president of the KabalikatNet Philippines, a national network and umbrella organizations of volunteer groups with more than 150 chapters nationwide, the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) were also represented in the live discussion of the said TV program.
