LGU-KB Bicol: An effective partnership

NABUA, Cam.Sur (Nov. 28,2010) -- Mayor Delia C. Simbulan acknowledged the importance of volunteers as it enhanced the capability of a local government in the delivery of services to the community and constituents.

Simbulan was the guest speaker during the 2nd Charter Anniversary Celebration of the Kaboronyogan nin mga Bicolnon (KB Bicol), Inc. - Nabua (KB509) Chapter held yesterday at the Alumni Hall, Nabua National High School.

The first termer-lady mayor said that even during the time that she was "just the first lady" of Nabua, she'd already witnessed the contributions made by the volunteer-members of KB509 especially in times of calamities and emergencies.

The lady mayor's husband, Sir Fer Simbulan was a 3-term mayor of this town and was conferred honorary membership with a call sign of 509-001 during the chartering 2 years ago.

"Nakita ko po kung papaano kumilos nang nagkakaisa ang mga kasapi ng KB509. Na kahit walang bayad, sila po'y masayang gumagawa ng kanila tungkulin bilang mga boluntir", Simbulan pointed out.

She said, "What more if all of you will be hired and properly paid by the LGU? I'm sure you will serve doubly hard, and it will be good for the municipality and the people".

The gorgeous lady mayor who was also conferred an honorary membership with a call sign of 509-011 said that she's looking forward for the continuous partnership between the LGU and the KB509.

KB509 is the only Chapter in the country which was given its own KB Bicol Building, during the time of Mayor Fer Simbulan. It now houses the KB509 141.
