KPI to assist govt’s efforts to minimize casualties on New Year’s Eve

NAGA City -- The officers and members of all chapters affiliated with the member-organizations of the KBNet Philippines, Inc. (KPI) are enjoined to assist their respective authorities (LGU, DOH & PNP) in the campaign against using of dangerous firecrackers especially in the evening of December 31.

KPI Co-Founders Sirs Armin S. Santos (33-02), President of KB Malaya & Jennis I. Nidea (30-01), Regional Governor of KB Bicol said that as volunteers, "We have moral obligations to assist the government's effort to lessen, if not totally eradicate, casualties during the New Year's Eve Celebration.

At present, records from Dec 21 to Dec. 27 of the Department of Health (DOH) showed that at least 66 have been seriously injured with 1 died due to firecrackers and/or indiscriminate firing of guns.

Santos who is the KPI national chairman of the board said that with the use of our VHF communications network, "we can easily reports suspected individuals to prevent any untoward incidents", he pointed out.

On his part, KPI National President Nidea is calling on the officers of the member-organizations - KB Bicol, KB Malaya, KB Mediacom, KBNet National Capital Region & KBNet Quezon Province to alert their respective chapters in assisting the said zero-casualty campaign efforts.

KPI is a national network and umbrella organizations of volunteer groups in the Philippines.
